museumdesign.asia is run and moderated by Chris White. Chris has worked in research, interpretation and scriptwriting for museums, public exhibitions, and corporate communication for the past 18 years.
After returning from post-graduate study at the Taiwan Normal University, Chris started as a researcher at the world-renowned MET Studio in 1992 and went on to run the company’s Far East office between 1995 and 1997 based in Hong Kong. In 2000, he was appointed a Director of MET Studio UK and Managing Director of MET Studio Hong Kong from 2003 to 2006. During this time, he played an integral role in the planning and execution of all MET Studio’s projects – most notably the Drug InfoCentre and the Hong Kong Wetland Park for the Hong Kong Government.
Chris set up Winkle-picker Ltd (www.winkle-picker.com) in 2006 to provide interpretive planning services for the museum design industry. Working between London and Hong Kong, Winkle-picker allows Chris to provide his experience in the full range of interpretive planning and writing services for clients including designers, theme parks, museums, governments, architects and contractors.
